I teach courses on Ecology and Evolution, Mammals, Sex and Gender, the Ecology of Infectious Diseases, and Science Literacy for Activists. Science Literacy

 A team of Bard faculty have recently re-designed Bard's Citizen Science program. The new Citizen Science grew out of our earlier work on science literacy, which was supported by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Vision and Change

The Vision and Change conference on undergraduate biology education defined bold goals for transforming the teaching of biology at the college level, and provided a framework for how to achieve them. I was honored to be a member of the steering committee that planned the conferences.
